Lemonwater
Built by a filmmaker for location mixers, picture editors, and documentary filmmakers

From the recording
to editorial.

There are no phone calls. No revision cycles where you re-explain the same problem. You choose how files move. You get them back with a sound report explaining exactly what was done and why.

01
Choose

Download, or try the cloud.

The product is the downloadable Mixer License — files stay on the cart. Cloud upload is how you try the packet ($49+). Same analysis either way: each channel, its own sonic profile.

Specify

Tell it what you need.

Named mixer, delivery preset (film default −24 LUFS / −2 dBTP, Sundance-aligned), 2- or 3-channel, WAV always. Optional MP3 or audio-only MP4. Cloud: set processing / hum / transient on Refine, then click Upload. Notes are read if you quote a custom edit — Lemonwater in-house.

Loudness presets only — not festival acceptance
03
Run

Folders on the cart, or Upload on Refine.

Local: pick source, working, and packet-out folders. Cloud intro: queue files, pay, set Refine, click Upload. MASV is transfer only — status stays on this site. No format conversion, no renaming, no ZIP. Cloud jobs run on Lemonwater’s worker — not in the browser.

BWF · WAV · AIF · MXF · MP4 · up to 32ch
04
Receive

Packet, report, optional custom edit.

Labeled ISOs, a sound report, optional transcription, originals, and an optional editorial-ready reference stereo — not a final mix. If channels were flagged, the results page offers a custom edit — Lemonwater in-house (info@lemonwater.io). Offline jobs never leave the mixer’s machine. Cloud intro files are deleted 7 days after delivery.

Common questions
Do I need to know what’s wrong with the audio?
No. Tell us what you heard — Day 3 exterior, heavy wind; kitchen scene has refrigerator hum; Track 4 drops out in the second half. You don’t need the technical cause. That’s the report’s job.
What file formats do you accept?
Anything ffmpeg can read — BWF, WAV, AIF, CAF, MXF, MOV, MP4. Mono through multichannel (up to 32ch). Cloud intro jobs must stay within the GB tier selected at checkout.
How does the pipeline know which channel is the boom?
It doesn't assume from pin 1. Each channel is analyzed for its sonic profile — speech, noise, and level. The report names channels from that analysis. Originals keep recorder metadata; we do not rewrite iXML on the source.
Does this run in my browser?
No. The site is checkout and status. Processing runs on Lemonwater’s worker (cloud intro) or on the operator’s machine (download).
Do files have to leave the set?
Only if you choose the cloud intro. Download Premix to keep files offline — that is the privacy path. Cloud jobs are deleted 7 days after delivery.
Is RestoreUNet the product?
No. It is one denoise step (12.83 million parameters). ffmpeg split and repair, DeepFilterNet, QC fallback, loudness, and the report are the rest.
Can I specify a festival loudness target?
Yes — presets set LUFS and true peak for the optional reference stereo (Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW, Hot Docs, True/False, IDFA, Slamdance, EBU R128, DCP, or custom numbers). That is a delivery spec you choose. It is not a promise that a festival will select, program, or accept the film. The stereo out is a reference mix, not a printmaster.
What if the software isn’t enough?
The results page can flag channels so you can quote a custom edit — Lemonwater in-house, info@lemonwater.io. Send the work-order packet (flagged channels only), not the full dump. Same offer on cloud intro jobs and on the local app.
